One-Armed Dragon

The captain of the Boryokudan currently operating out of Murond.

Description:

Height: 6’2"
Weight: 180 lb.
Age: late twenties
Home: Donnerich (Langdon Masters), Murond (One-Armed Dragon)
Weapon: Artificial arm
Theme: Masamune Date’s Theme, Rei Kondoh (Sengoku Basara 3)

The One-Armed Dragon is a fairly tall, lanky man with shaggy brown hair and penetrating blue eyes. He has a few light scars on his face and a thicker one across his forehead. His left arm is artificial and serves as his primary weapon, loaded with a variety of blades and gadgets that he uses to quickly subdue his enemies.

He is usually seen wearing a long blue coat with stylized lightning in a circle on the back, black pants, black boots, and a blue-and-white-striped button-down shirt. The coat is reinforced to aid him in battle, but the sleeves are wide enough for him to easily use the larger attachments his arm requires.

The One-Armed Dragon is a supremely confident man, never showing or admitting weakness to anyone not in his inner circle. He is arrogant and dismissive of anyone he views as less than him, and he views a great many people as less than him.

Bio:

The captain of the Boryokudan group operating out of Murond (as of Session 310), the One-Armed Dragon grew up as Langdon Masters, son of Donnerich Council head Shadrach Masters. Details of his life as Shadrach aren’t easily uncovered, as the bounty hunter prefers just to be known as the One-Armed Dragon, after the artificial left arm that hides a myriad of weapons.

The One-Armed Dragon is the direct supervisor of the Boryokudan members in the Murond group, with Sebastian Essai, Trey Margrace, Sabin Harter, Nahaje Mensah, Punk, and Mist Walker among their number. The Dragon commands with a mix of earned respect and belligerent threats, using volume and anger as well as reason and intelligence.

He has encountered the party a few times — once in a battle with Kalil Kiran in Donnerich after Kalil came searching for information related to the missing Kaarie and Ramirez. Kalil defeated the Dragon after the Dragon’s arm malfunctioned. The other encounter came in Lucky Sevens, when Kogel shot him in the leg in response to the Dragon’s “friendly warning.”

What The Party Knows

  • His real name is Langdon Masters.
  • He is the son of Donnerich Council head Shadrach Masters.
  • Not the full leader of the Boryokudan — has referred to orders coming from “upstairs.”
  • Rumors say that the Dragon was far less of an asshole before he lost his left arm.
  • Six or seven years ago, was in a terrible vehicular accident in Korindall that killed someone in the car with the Dragon and forced Dragon’s left arm to be amputated.
  • Got his new arm from the Boryokudan.
  • Once said to Punk, “My father is not the only one who can profit off these dragons” in response to a question about his assumed name.
  • Despises politics, especially Donnerich politics.
  • Chose to work with Kalil Kiran to test Mist. “Now I want you to walk closely with that life you left behind, that life you never will be able to go back to, and I want to know if you can dance on that edge without falling.”
  • Said that Kalil Kiran and the rest of the party were not the Boryokudan’s enemy.

  • Said that Kalil Kiran and the rest of the party were not the Boryokudan’s enemy.
  • Paid for Harter’s father’s recovery out of his own pocket, not the Boryokudan’s, according to Harter.
  • Had the option to take a mission to assassinate his father, but let Mist choose the mission and gave the assassination to another group.

  • Arm can transform between a sword, shield, and firearm, as demonstrated during his kata.
  • Treats Mist with more respect than the others, due to her confounding his expectations.
  • Refers to the leader of the Boryokudan as “Chief.”
  • No one but the Chief decides who meets with the Chief — he’s much too busy to deal with each individual division.
  • Only knows of two other divisions of the Boryokudan, but doesn’t know if there are any more.
  • Is the only member of this group of the Boryokudan to meet the Chief.
  • Is suspicious of Mist being made a member of the Boryokudan so quickly, by specific order of the Chief, no less.
  • Has a young kitten named Kojuro.
  • Has the broken shards of the Odin materia.
